Golden autumn in the Dolomites - holiday in Val Gardena
In September and October, the holiday region attracts visitors with pleasant autumn hikes and culinary delights
Autumn marks the beginning of the golden season in South Tyrol, which appeals with its wonderful displays of colour and a variety of leisure activities. While hiking in the Dolomites you can expect a breathtaking view - the partly snow-covered peaks stand out clearly against the bright blue sky. For those who prefer to keep a more leisurely pace, there are beautiful walks and interesting farmyard trails to choose from in Ortisei, the nearby Sciliar region, and in the picturesque village of Laion, at the entrance of Val Gardena.
In autumn, the mountain inns and taverns open their doors and invite you to experience traditional “Törggelen”, where homemade South Tyrolean specialities, roasted chestnuts and newly bottled wine are served. A culinary experience not to be missed!
If the weather doesn’t want to play ball, you can relax in the public Mar Dolomit indoor swimming pool and enjoy the pleasant warmth of the water. Admission is free for our guests.
